       The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is well recognised as a centre of excellence for

       research in the fields of 3D imaging, bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP), trauma and orthognathic

       surgery. These special interests in the surgical specialties are linked with the Oral and Maxillofacial

       Surgical service in the city and regional hospitals in the West of Scotland. The University of Glasgow

       Dental School is the second largest in the UK providing undergraduate and postgraduate education.

      King's College London Dental Institute is a research led centre of excellence offering PhD opportunities in

      dentistry and oral science. Ninety-five percent of the Dental Institute’s research activity was rated to be

      of international importance and was responsible for over a third of the internationally excellent dental
